How to Install a Block Heater on Bobcat® Machines


Learn what tools you'll need and how to install a block heater on a Bobcat® loader, compact excavator and Toolcat™ utility work machine. Block Heater Installation Steps: 1.) Locate the rubber plug covering the cavity on the engine block. 2.) Use compressed air to clean the area around the plug. 3.) Remove the rubber plug. 4.) Clean the heater cavity with compressed air. 5.) Connect the cord to the heater element. 6.) Slide the assembly into the heater cavity, with the clip face-down, until the clip reaches the engine block. 7.) Hold the clip open and continue pushing the assembly into the cavity until the clip latches onto the engine block. 8.) Install the edge clip and tie strap to the bracket. 9.) Fasten power cord to the edge mount. 10.) Adjust cord length to prevent contact with the battery terminal and starter.
